Bray Wanderers FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Harry Kenny as Manager of the First Team and Head Coach within the Club.
His Assistant Manager will be Liam O’Brien who has been acting as Assistant Manager for the past number of weeks. Ian Fowler will continue in his position as Goalkeeping Coach.
Harry’s move into management comes after a very successful playing career in the League of Ireland where he spent 13 seasons with Shamrock Rovers.
“H”, as he is more commonly known, won 4 League of Ireland titles, 3 FAI Cup winner’s medals and 2 LFA Presidents Cup titles.
He made the transition from player to coach in the mid-90’s and has gained valuable experience in this role over the past 20 years. Having achieved his UEFA Pro Licence in 2015, Harry has all the experience and qualifications necessary to bring the club forward.
He was appointed as Assistant Manager of Bray Wanderers in July of 2015 and has stepped up to the role of caretaker manager over the past few weeks.
During his short spell in charge he has shown a keen interest in developing the younger players and presenting them with opportunities at first team level. This is an area Harry will continue to develop and it ensures a bright future for the club.
Whilst this is his first appointment in The League of Ireland as Manager, the Club have every confidence that he will make a success of the role.
