Greystones photographer Anna O’Rourke has been short listed in a national photography competition. Entrants were asked to capture the essence of their home town and Anna focussed on the scenic views and nature of Greystones. The Canon Ireland and TheJournal.ie photography competition received hundreds of entries from which they chose just three finalists. A founding member of Greystones Camera Club, photography runs in Anna’s family as she says her father was “big into photography”. “It is absolutely my dream job,” Anna added. “I would love to be able to sell my photography, in a big way”.
As a finalist Anna will receive training from expert photographer Dave McKane from the Institute of Photography. Over the next few weeks, each finalist will be given the use of an EOS 750D DSLR camera and a Canon PowerShot SX710 and their work will be profiled on TheJournal.ie. Five photographs from each finalists’ project will be put to public vote to decide the overall winner. The winner will be announced at a Gallery Showcase event on September 10 in Dublin and will be presented with the grand prize of a Canon 750 DSLR camera, a Selphy SP910 compact photo printer and a half-day DSLR training course. Keep an eye on TheJournal.ie and be sure to vote for Anna.
